This past Sunday (4/15/18) at the Sie FilmCenter in Denver, Colorado, WeedStream had the privilege and honor of attending the private promotional screening of “Super Troopers 2.” The film is the much-anticipated Broken Lizard follow up to their cult favorite, “Super Troopers.” Check out the trailer here!
The WeedStreamer was graced with the comedic genius of 3/5ths of the Broken Lizard troupe: Kevin Heffernan (Rod Farva), Steve Lemme (Macintyre “Mac” Womack), and Paul Soter (Carl Foster). The fellas boarded The WeedStreamer for a quick interview with WeedStream’s own Evan Maes. That quick interview turned into a hilarious 30+ minute discussion ranging from topics such as the late Bill Paxton’s male member, to the cast’s view of micro-dosing cannabis, to teasing about the making of “Potfest” as referenced in the end of “Beerfest.”
The full-length interview will be posted soon, as we want to make sure it looks as good as possible. But follow WeedStream on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates from Sunday’s event. As you could probably imagine, all three guys were extremely laid back, down-to-earth, and absolutely hilarious in person.
To make the film, Super Troopers 2 raised over $5 million thanks to the support of fans through the crowd-funding platform Indiegogo. It was the second most successful crowdfunding endeavor for a feature film in crowdfunding history. It was also aided by the support and fundraising of local entrepreneurs and friends of WeedStream, Andy Juett and Kayvan Khalatbari through their popular comedy collective, Sexpot Comedy.
“Super Troopers 2” follows the raucous staties as they head north to Canada to settle a border dispute. The film sees the return of Brian Cox as Captain O’Hagan, Linda Carter as Governor Jessman, Marisa Coughlan as Ursula, and comedian Jim Gaffigan as Mr. Larry Johnson (“meow”). New appearances in ST2 are Rob Lowe, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Will Sasso, Tyler Labine, Hayes MacArthur, Sean William Scott, Damon Wayans Jr., and Fred Savage.
The cast has asked for all of our support by going to see the film on its opening weekend. If their opening is successful, it will allow for a “Potfest” film, as well as a “Super Troopers 3,” which they reportedly have already started working on. So grab your friends, some bud, and go see “Super Troopers 2” so we can keep seeing Broken Lizard films. Super Troopers 2 will be released worldwide on April 20, 2018!
